IIT Bombay envisions developing a hub for South Asia collaboration and foster an ecosystem of advanced training discussions and collaborative research in frontier areas.

The Centre originated as a part of collaboration with the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste in 2017 and has since taken up the following activities

• Visiting Scholars : Faculty and doctoral students of IIT Bombay sponsored with special support from IITB to attend ICTP's workshops and schools 2018 - 19.
  
• 
  
• Seminar Series : A national Seminar Series in THEP and other theoretical areas through 2019-2021. Talks can be found here.
  
• 
  
• Sponsored conference : The Centre hosted a ICTP sponsored Joint IITB-ICTP conference on Neutrino Physics in December 2018

A Call to join ( IIT Bombay) :

       We invite all IIT Bombay academic units engaged in research directions in Physics, Mathematics and related areas of social relevance such as Environmental Science and Biological Sciences to affiliate with the Centre. This will enable the affiliates to leverage the core capacities of IIT Bombay in developing into a regional hub for fostering research and collaboration environment.

A Call to join ( other eminent national Institutes) :

       We invite expression of interest from other institutions of higher learning in India to join their expertise and resources for the same cause.
      
 The Centre will enable :

1. Organising regular national seminar series
2. Participation in ICTP activities 
3. International conferences with eminent global scholars, early career researchers and doctoral students.
